AT&T is considering the possibility of shuttering the website for its U-verse triple-play platform in May as it continues to fade the U-verse brand and transition its customers to DirecTV.

“We haven’t made a final decision, but wanted to be transparent with customers that it was under consideration,” an AT&T spokesperson told reporter Phillip Swann

According to Swann, AT&T started telling customers that the uverse.com site may be taken down by May 30.

In addition to possibly closing the site, Swann said AT&T has also started telling customers that the U-verse multiscreen app may also soon be removed from Microsoft’s Xbox One and Windows mobile platforms.

AT&T has made no secret of its desire to migrate customers from its legacy U-verse video platform to DirecTV.

U-verse lost 1.36 million video customers in 2016, while DirecTV added 1.23 million subscribers. U-verse’s video subscriber base now stands at only 4.28 million, while DirecTV has 21.01 million customers.
