BCI names Bresnan veteran Gibbs SVP of business services

New cable MSO BCI Broadband said it named Bresnan Communications, Frontier Communications (Nasdaq: FTR) and Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR) veteran John Gibbs SVP of business services.

Gibbs had been regional VP of Cablevision's (NYSE: CVC) Optimum West division, a cluster of former Bresnan systems that it sold recently to Charter. He also held management positions at Frontier and Charter.

Gibbs is one of several Bresnan executives at Purchase, N.Y.-based BCI, which has acquired cable systems from Allegiance Communications and James Cable. He'll report to BCI CEO Jeffrey DeMond, who was previously the chief executive at Bresnan. Former Bresnan CFO Andrew Kober holds the same title at BCI.

"Everyone at BCI is delighted to welcome John back to our team. His ability to anticipate the rapid changes in the needs of sophisticated business users and provide them with advanced solutions will serve BCI's customers well as we continue to develop our markets," DeMond said in a prepared statement.
