Convergys Corp., which handles outsourced customer service calls from several cable MSOs, said it plans to hire 1,000 full-time customer service representatives within the next 60 days.
While Convergys didn't name the customers that the CSRs will handle calls for, Convergys and parent company NetCracker have deals with several U.S. pay TV providers and telecom companies, including Dish Network (Nasdaq: DISH), Cox Communications, Suddenlink, RCN and Verizon (NYSE: VZ).
Cincinnati-based Convergys said in Monday's announcement that it will give some of the CSRs it hires the option of working at home.
