Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) said Wednesday that it acquired Cork, Ireland-based WiFi software provider ThinkSmart.
ThinkSmart has focused on location delivering data analysis. "Cisco and ThinkSmart will enhance the wireless network by providing location intelligence and analytics to service provider and enterprise customers to know what is happening in their environments and to better engage end users," Cisco head of corporate business development Hilton Romanski wrote in a blog post about the deal.
Cisco, which supplies wireless access points to Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) and other cable MSOs investing in building WiFi hotspots, didn't say how much it paid to acquire ThinkSmart.
