Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) said Friday that it named former Cox Communications executive Matthew Fassnacht VP of the Washington region for its Comcast Business unit.
Fassnacht, who previously ran product development, marketing and sales at Cox's Las Vegas system, will focus on selling Comcast's Metro Ethernet product to mid-sized commercial customers, along with other business solutions.
Before joining Cox in 2012, Fassnacht was an area VP at CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL). He has also worked at Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) and XO Communications.
"Matt is perfectly suited to the Pacific Northwest and this position as he knows the area well and has many years of experience with a wide variety of telecommunications providers," Comcast Regional VP Len Rozek said in the announcement.
