Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) said Tuesday that it hired celebrity chef Robert Irvine to help market high-speed Internet service and other products to restaurants, bars and hotels.
The move comes two months after the nation's largest cable MSO launched its Business Hospitality product suite, which includes 60 HDTV networks, high-speed Internet service offering speeds up to 100 Mbps and Ethernet service offering speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second.
Irvine, the star of Food Networks' Restaurant Impossible series, will help Comcast market the hospitality product through print, online and digital assets, the company said. He'll also interact with customers through "in-person and online experiential events that will bring to life the connection between technology, business efficiency and customer satisfaction," the MSO said in Tuesday's announcement.
