Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) boasted that it is the first broadband provider to develop a security solution for mobile devices with the launch of its Constant Guard Mobile app for Apple's iPad and iPhone.
The MSO said the app will warn subscribers using mobile devices if a website they visit is unsafe or could be a source of malware. The app also contains a secure banking and shopping feature that lets subscribers automatically fill in login information for banks, email and social networking accounts.
Comcast said it is developing an Android version of Constant Guard Mobile that will be available later this year. "[O]ur goal is to make individuals and entire families safer online no matter what type of device they may be using," Comcast SVP of Strategic Services Susan Jin Davis said in a prepared statement.
