DirecTV loses ABC affiliates in Alaska

DirecTV (Nasdaq: DTV) lost the feed for ABC affiliates in Fairbanks, Anchorage and Juneau, Alaska, on Sunday, after its retransmission-consent deal with station owner Vision Alaska expired.

"Vision Alaska is playing a contemptible game of takeaway, mistreating some of our best customers, and their most loyal viewers, by letting them see their programs one day, only to snatch them away the next," DirecTV Chief Content Officer Dan York said in a statement.

Meanwhile, DirecTV still hasn't reached a retransmission-consent deal with Sinclair Television, which has threatened to pull the feeds from 87 stations in 47 markets from DirecTV homes after its contract expires on Feb. 28.
