ESPN's YouTube channels go dark amid YouTube Red launch

ESPN's YouTube channels are going dark amid the launch of Google's new YouTube Red subscription platform.

The new, $10-a-month YouTube Red essentially allows users to see all of YouTube's flora and fauna without commercials. Google has received agreements with what it said are about 99 percent of its content owners to post videos simultaneously on its legacy ad-supported platform and YouTube Red. But the company does not have an agreement with ESPN's parent company, Disney. 

Thus, when users try to see videos on ESPN's Grantland Network, they get a messaging say, "This channel has no content." Article
