Former Comcast SVP Lins helps Clear Channel launch ClearVision airport TV Network

Former Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) and Canoe Ventures executive Vicki Lins is helping Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings launch a new in-airport network that carries programming from E!, HGTV, Travel Channel and several other cable networks.

Clear Channel announced earlier this week that it had launched its ClearVision network at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, timing its debut ahead of Super Bowl XLVII, which will take place in the city on Feb. 3.

ClearVision, which competes against CNN Airport, will carry programming from 140 content suppliers including HGTV, ABC, CBS, Fox Business News, NBC, The Weather Channel, VH1 and The Golf Channel. Clear Channel said it is partnering with digital media company connectiVISION Digital Networks on the airport network.

Lins, who worked previously as SVP of marketing at Comcast and chief marketing officer at Canoe, was named CMO at Clear Channel Outdoor in October. Earlier this month, Lins recruited former Cox Communications, Canoe and Comcast executive David Grabert, who joined Clear Channel Outdoor as VP of marketing and communications.

The airport network is a small part of the Clear Channel Outdoor business, which is focused on selling advertising across 750,000 displays in more than 40 countries, including billboards and digital outdoor networks.
