Comcast's (Nasdaq: CMCSA) NBC Universal subsidiary said it signed a multiplatform distribution deal with Mediacom Communications which includes rights to video-on-demand programming and NBCU's coverage of the Olympics.
A TV Everywhere component of the agreement will allow Mediacom subscribers who take its Family TV package to access online video programming from NBCU cable networks. NBCU signed similar deals recently with Cablevision (NYSE: CVC), Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Suddenlink Communications.
Networks included in the agreement include Bravo, Chiller, cloo, CNBC, E!, G4, Golf Channel, MSNBC, mun2, NBC Sports Network, Oxygen, Sprout, Style, Syfy, Telemundo, Universal HD, USA Network and Comcast SportsNet. The deal also includes retransmission-consent for NBC and Telemundo stations owned and operated by NBCU.
