Time Warner Cable recruits Cox exec Phil Meeks to run business services

Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) said Tuesday that it recruited Cox Communications veteran Phil Meeks to run its business services division.

Meeks, who had been SVP of business services at Atlanta-based Cox, will join Time Warner Cable on June 3 as EVP and COO of business services. The MSO, which is based in Manhattan, said Meeks will report to COO Rob Marcus.

Meeks will oversee 6,000 employees who sell products that include Ethernet services, wireless backhaul services and Time Warner Cable's NaviSite cloud services business. Time Warner Cable said the business services division counts 570,000 customers and generates about $2 billion in annual revenue.

"Business services is a leading driver of growth for our company. I'm excited to work with Phil to further penetrate the small business opportunity in our footprint, expand our already robust suite of products, and continue to move us up market to serve larger customers," Marcus said in Tuesday's announcement.
