Time Warner Cable's (NYSE: TWC) Navisite subsidiary launched a new data backup service it is marketing to enterprise business customers.
The company said Wednesday that its NaviCloud Intelligent Storage Vault includes both data storage and protection on its NaviCloud platform and storage capabilities at the locations of businesses that take the product. The backup service uses a data storage system from Waltham, Mass.-based Actifio and the company's Dedupe-Async replication technology, Navisite said.
In January, Cablevision's (NYSE: CVC) Lightpath subsidiary began marketing a similar data backup service to businesses in the New York metropolitan area. Last month, Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) launched a portal for business customers called Upware that includes access to data backup services such as Carbonite and Mozy.
