Verizon adds 13,000 miles to 100G network

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) said Thursday that it has expanded its 100G network in the United States by about 13,000 miles, which will help it meet increased traffic from online video and the growth of LTE 4G networks. The company said it has deployed 100G technology on several routes, including Atlanta-to-Tampa, Kansas City-to-Dallas and Salt Lake City-to-Seattle. FierceTelecom has more on the 100G expansion.
