Targeted advertising technology provider Visible World said Thursday that it named former RCN Cable and NDS executive Todd Narwid SVP of sales.
Narwid, who had been president of business services at RCN, and VP of new media at NDS, will be responsible for growing Visible World's business with both cable operators and advertisers, the company said.
Visible World's cable customers include Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA), Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC), Cox Communications, Cablevision (NYSE: CVC), Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR), Bright House Networks and Suddenlink. Its Adtag product allows advertisers such as automotive companies to add 5-second tags at the end of local commercials that include information about local car dealers.
The company also allows advertisers and cable operators to place different ads during the same slot based on demographic and geographic factors. For example, an automotive advertiser could use its Adcopy product to deliver ads for minivans to viewers who live in the suburbs, while a subscriber who lives in a major city would see a commercial for a sports car.
