Wave Broadband recruits former Cox, Insight and Sunflower Broadband executives

Wave Broadband said it has recruited former executives from Cox Communications, Insight Communications and Sunflower Broadband to help run its expanding cable operation.

The Kirkland, Wash.-based cable MSO named former Insight Communications executive Tim Klinefelter as EVP of broadband services and named former Sunflower Broadband general manager Patrick Knorr as EVP of IP and business services. It also named former Cox Communications executive Colette Jelineo chief marketing officer and promoted two of its own executives.

Klinefelter had been SVP of operations at Insight's Louisville, Ky., system. Knorr's move to Wave comes after a short stint at TV Everywhere technology provider Synacor, which announced in September that it hired Knorr as general manager of regional accounts.

Wave said COO Steve Friedman was promoted to president and COO, and CMO Arah Peck was promoted to EVP of strategic development.

The personnel moves come about five months after Oak Hill Capital agreed to buy Wave Broadband parent company WaveDivision holdings. Wave has grown its cable system portfolio, acquiring systems in the Northwest from Broadstripe earlier this year. It also recently agreed to acquire Seattle area fiber carrier Black Rock Cable.
