JW Player Apple TV App BuilderEnterprise online video platform provider JW Player is taking a bold step into the mobile app world. The company launched a new open-source product, Apple TV App Builder, which enables online video providers to create an iOS streaming app with "minimal" time and effort to configure and launch.

The company's first taker was one of its streaming customers, Tasting Table, which used the new product to build and launch a tvOS app within 24 hours. Tasting Table co-founder and CEO Geoff Bartakovics praised the cost efficiencies of the new app builder, saying that "even a basic entry level for me would have been in the $25,000 to $35,000 space to develop something custom."

JW Player's tvOS product is one of several new mobile app builders coming onto the market. FierceDeveloper profiles three products and companies that are changing the app development market here.
