AT&T U-verse Now Serves More Than 400,000 Living Units in the Kansas City Area

More Kansas City Area Residents Now Have Access to New TV Service That Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction in J.D. Power and Associates Study

KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* today announced that AT&T U-verse® services, including AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice, are now available to more than 400,000 living units across the Kansas City area.

This marks only the latest expansion of AT&T U-verse availability across the Kansas City area, where AT&T U-verse first launched in March 2007. The number of area households with access to AT&T U-verse has more than tripled since early 2008, and is now available to nearly 45 percent of the households in Kansas City's designated market area.

"Our most recent expansion of AT&T U-verse reflects our commitment to make the investments necessary to bring consumers across Kansas City a new era of communications technology," said John Sondag, president of AT&T Missouri. "We continue to provide innovative video choice to Kansas City area customers. Local residents have asked for more choices in television service and today we're delivering."

AT&T U-verse services, which are all delivered over AT&T's advanced Internet Protocol (IP) network, offer an alternative to cable with a better DVR, better features and apps, and a better TV experience. AT&T U-verse allows customers to bring together their TV, broadband, home phone and AT&T wireless services - all on one bill - with unique features that provide a new level of integration, convenience and control. Now AT&T U-verse TV ranks "Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the South/West/North Central Regions," according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2011 Residential Television Service Satisfaction Study(SM).

AT&T U-verse is being expanded in Missouri and Kansas thanks to legislation supported by many state legislators, and signed into law by the both states' governors. This important legislation created an environment that encourages new video providers, such as AT&T, to invest in Missouri and Kansas to compete against incumbent cable providers.

"Cable was the only game in town for too long," said Steve Hahn, president of AT&T Kansas. "We know Kansas City area customers want a better choice to break free from cable, and AT&T U-verse is the answer. And we'll continue to make U-verse TV even better for customers with regular upgrades and new cool applications that enhance your TV experience."
