Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX)
After a losing more than 800,000 subscribers during the third quarter, Netflix regained 600,000 subscribers during the fourth quarter. The company predicted that it will continue to see DVD-only subscribers and customers who subscribe to hybrid DVD and streaming video subscriptions fall, but that it will see steady growth from subscribers that pay it $7.99 monthly for unlimited streaming of TV shows and movies.

AT&T added 208,000 U-verse TV subscribers during the fourth quarter, growing its subscription video subscriber base to 3.8 million.

Net revenue at Motorola Mobility's home division dropped 11 percent to $897 million in the fourth quarter.

Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC)
The second largest U.S. cable MSO attributed discounts on its triple play and other promotions to improved performance during the fourth quarter. While it reported Thursday that it lost 129,000 video subscribers during Q4, it picked up 117,000 high-speed Internet subscribers and 27,000 voice subscribers.

Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS)
In the company's fiscal first quarter, diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter increased 18 percent to $0.80 from $0.68 in the prior-year quarter. Operating income for its cable networks segment increased to $967 million for the quarter due to growth at ESPN and its worldwide Disney Channels, while income in its broadcasting segment decreased to $226 million.

Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX)
Time Warner reported about $3.5 billion in revenue from its networks division in the fourth quarter of 2011, up by about $151 million from the fourth quarter of 2010. Its operating income from the networks division increased by about $240 million to $1.14 billion during the quarter. CEO Jeff Bewkes said on a fourth-quarter earnings call that the industry should let subscribers access all of its subscription content on any platform for no additional charge.

Virgin Media (Nasdaq: VMED)
Virgin Media said Wednesday that the number of subscribers using TiVo DVRs more than doubled during the fourth quarter to 435,000. The top UK cable operator saw net TiVo subscriber additions of 273,000 during the quarter.

News Corp. (Nasdaq: NWSA)
The media giant's television segment, which includes its Fox broadcast network and TV stations, generated $189 million in operating income during the quarter, up 38 million, or 25 percent, compared to this time last year. CEO Chase Carey evoked the premium prices that Apple charges for its products during the quarterly earnings call, when explaining News Corp.'s push to get cable and satellite affiliates to pay it for allowing subscribers to access TV series online.

Stock in Comcast jumped nearly 7 percent after it reported that it lost just 17,000 basic video subscribers during the fourth quarter. Wall Street analysts had expected Comcast to lose more than 100,000 customers during Q4.

In Q4, DirecTV picked up just 125,000 net new subscribers, down significantly from the third quarter, when it added 328,000 new subscribers. Subscriber growth was also down compared to the fourth quarter of 2010, when it added 289,000 subscribers.

Frontier Communications (NYSE: FTR)
Rural telco Frontier lost 5,900 FiOS TV subscribers during the fourth quarter, but said that it will continue to support the delivery of video programming to FiOS customers that it picked up through its acquisition of $8.6 billion in Verizon assets in 14 states in 2010.
