Cablevision Systems (NYSE: CVC) is the latest in a long list of cable TV operators to use Home Portal software from Affinegy for home self-install of broadband triple play services. More broadband service providers have started offering different types of self-install and self-repair options to help them cut down on costly truck rolls.

Separately, Affinegy announced the attest version of its Home Portal software. Home Portal Version 2.0, due out in Q3 2011, includes support for home wireless networks and discovering content like music, videos and photos and other capabilities.
