All's right with the World Series, Fox back on Cablevision

New Corp.'s (Nasdaq: NWSA) Fox Networks returned to Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) in time for subscribers to see the fourth game of the World Series and turns out that the Texas Rangers weren't the only losers.

"Cablevision caved," reported the New York Post. The MSO which, it turns out, is not a good loser, did not disagree.

"Cablevision conceded because it does not think its customers should any longer be denied the Fox programs they wish to see," the company said in a statement that also called out "the absence of any meaningful action from the FCC" and Fox's "unfair price for multiple channels of programming including many in which our customers have little or no interest."

While Cablevision said that its customers can expect to pay more for a service with Fox programming, it did not say exactly how much, only that the settlement ended up being "less than ... the unprecedented rates News Corp. was demanding when they pulled their channels off Cablevision."
