AT&T launches Fox's BabyTV on U-verse family tier
The launch will help AT&T compete with Google Fiber (Nasdaq: GOOG) in Kansas City and other markets. Dish Network (Nasdaq: DISH) and Cox Communications also carry BabyTV, which is distributed by Fox Networks. The network, which features programming for toddlers, was acquired by Fox International Channels in 2007.
Google struck a carriage deal with Fox Networks in November that included BabyTV, National Geographic Channel, FX and several other networks. BabyTV competes with BabyFirst Americas, which is carried by DirecTV (Nasdaq: DTV), Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) and other major distributors. Comcast agreed to launch BabyFirst last fall.
