With a little more than three weeks remaining before kickoff of Super Bowl 46, Sunbeam Television is using its distribution of the game on Boston NBC affiliate WHDH-TV to squeeze increased retransmission-consent fees from DirecTV. Sunbeam, which pulled the signals of its stations in Boston and Miami from DirecTV on Jan. 13, notes that it has already reached deals with Comcast and other distributors. It's likely that Sunbeam and DirecTV will reach an agreement before the Super Bowl, especially if the New England Patriots make it to the big game. FierceIPTV takes a closer look at the spat.
