Bright House Networks will use Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) technology in an effort to stay ahead of increased bandwidth requirements fueled by existing business needs and future offerings such as whole house video-on-demand, start over and look back DVR capabilities, the two companies said.

Cisco's ASR 9000 series aggregation services routers will provide the technology backbone for Bright House's carrier Ethernet platform and also be part of the DOCSIS 3.0-fueled expansion of Bright House's Road Runner Lightning high-speed Internet service, the companies added in a news release.
