Cable MSOs make deep inroads into business Ethernet market: report

Cable operators are making big gains in providing business Ethernet services, as a mid-2010 report on the U.S. Ethernet market just released by Vertical Systems Group finds, with Cox Business and Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC-WI) finding spots in the top 10 on the research firm's Leaderboard.

Absent from the top 10, but perhaps not for long, was Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA). According to Vertical Systems Group Principal Rosemary Cochran, in an interview with FierceTelecom, the MSO is getting much more active in the business market, with a strong presence among SMBs.
