As usual, next week's Cable Show in Los Angeles is already creating a deluge of announcements from vendors, service providers and other assorted interested bystanders. Here's a look at a few from the past several days:

  • Bright House Networks is trialing and has endorsed a new application itaas will be showcasing that provides Twitter interactive capabilities on tru2way enabled set-tops.
  • Time Warner Cable said it would offer a "sneak peak" (that's what it said; it's obviously a high point) at its Connect a Million minds interactive TV application dedicated to a corporate social responsibility program.
  • Nortel said it would demonstrate technologies that deliver advanced VoIP, multimedia and mobility services to cable residential and business subscribers.
  • SeaChange International plans to demonstrate software and content workflow technologies "designed to leverage television operators' existing infrastructures to manage and monetize video across multiple screens" by delivering "seamless video and advertisement management from the moment content is ingested to the time it is played out to subscribers anywhere using set-tops, PCs, mobile phones and new devices including the Apple iPad."
