The growth of alternative viewing options such as the Internet and mobile TV is real. The impact this is having on cable is not a doomsday scenario at all according to Horowitz Associates' Broadband Content and Services (BCS) survey. Here's a key point: While four in ten of those surveyed said they watch broadband or mobile TV at least once a month, 60 percent--that's six out of ten--only watch TV the way they always have: via cable or some other conveyance on a television set.

Take into account that this was an Internet survey and the results skew a bit more towards the thought that maybe, just maybe, cable television is still the way to watch TV.
