The FCC has put out the word that it's OK for Cablevision Systems (NYSE: CVC) to step in and start operating Bresnan Communications. Compared to the hailstorm of comments descending on the Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA)-NBC Universal takeover, the FCC reported it received "no petitions to deny and one comment from a customer in favor of the transaction" when it came to Cablevision's $1.36 billion bid to grab the assets of the company founded by cable pioneer Bill Bresnan.

Bresnan subscribers can now start to chew their fingernails along with the rest of Cablevision's customers that they might miss an episode of Glee if the MSO and FOX Networks don't reach a retransmission agreement.
