The interactive TV joint venture, which was backed by Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA), Cox, Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC), Cablevision (NYSE: CVC), Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR), and Bright House Networks, named Joel Hassell chief technology officer and Arthur Orduna chief product officer.

Canoe CEO Kathy Timko, who succeeded Verklin, said Vicki Lins remains chief marketing officer, John Redpath remains general counsel, Neil Schaffer continues as CFO and Jim Turner will continue to head up its sales efforts as senior VP of sales and distribution.

Canoe has been leading efforts from the major cable MSOs to sell interactive ads on national cable networks. Comcast, Time Warner Cable and other Canoe partners have begun running ads that allow subscribers to press a button on their remote control to request more information about a product. Canoe is also pursuing t-commerce and other advanced advertising efforts.
