Some Charlotte, N.C. area television viewers had the opportunity to brighten their smiles and breath by ordering Orbit gum with just a click on their remote control. The offer was part of a deal tried by Time Warner Cable during an Orbit commercial on the Style channel that gave viewers the option to order a free pack of gum by tapping "yes" on their remote controls.

Charlotte was targeted not because its residents have bad teeth or breath, but because Time Warner has a large presence in the area, with about 900 corporate employees, as well as research & development facilities.

Results of the test will be "reviewed and similar projects will probably roll out nationally afterward," a TWC spokeswoman told The Charlotte Observer.
