A rose by any other name ...

Charter Communications has been told that Charter Business is sufficiently generic that the company cannot block the use of CharterCommunications.com as a domain name, even though it comes awfully close to the MSO's commercial unit.

A panel for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) ruled that Charter Business is generic with a number of uses and that the domain name CharterBusiness.com wasn't registered in bad faith and "is clearly not the same expression."
