Charter lands Turner content for TV Everywhere site and mobile distribution
Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR) said Thursday that it struck a deal with Turner Broadcasting System which will allow it to offer subscribers more than 500 hours of programming from TBS, CNN, TNT and other networks through its Charter.net TV Everywhere portal.
The cable MSO said Turner will supply its subscribers with access to complete episodes of TNT programs such as The Closer, Rizzoli & Isles, Leverage, and Southland. Charter customers will also be able to offer access to TBS's Conan and The Big Bang Theory, and programs from Comedy Central and TruTV.
Charter has been increasing its efforts at multiplatform distribution by adding more content to its TV Everywhere portal. It's also one of the first cable MSOs to allow subscribers to search for content from outside video sources such as Hulu and Netflix through its portal.
