Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) has become the latest service provider to add multi-room DVR capability to its service, according to a release issued by Motorola's (NYSE: MOT) Mobile Devices and Home Business unit which is supplying the technology.

The Moto whole-home DVR set-up uses MoCA to connect up to eight DVR and non-DVR HD set-top boxes and aggregate the content on any home set-top, the release said. The deployment will help Cincinnati Bell acquire new video subscribers which "is becoming more challenging as new competition emerges," according to Darrick Zucco, VP-GM of Cincy's wireline services, as quoted in the news release.

Also in the Motorola space, the vendor said its switched digital video portfolio of products is being made available to independent video operators as "a hosted solution operated from Motorola's Secure Operations Center in san Diego."
