Comcast developing fully loaded Xfinity set-top box

Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) has left nothing out of its new Xfinity Spectrum quad-tuner HD DVR box making the rounds through the FCC, according to wirelessgoodness.com.

At its foundation, the box features four tuners so a viewer can watch one and record three others, and Internet connectivity for social media and the ability to tap into Web-based programming such as Pandora music or YouTube videos. Technically speaking, the box has component, composite, HDMI, S-video and digital audio ports along with its USB, firewire and Ethernet connections. Oddly, it contains a CableCARD slot so "it looks like the Spectrum will require a card card to work," the website said.

Of course there is no word who is building the box or when it will be released--if ever--and certainly not how much it will cost to get one, although wirelessgoodness advises Comcast subscribers "You want one."
