Comcast: 'Don't be a dish head'
Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) has launched a new TV ad campaign in which it takes shots at rivals DirecTV (Nasdaq: DTV) and Dish Network (Nasdaq: DISH). "Don't be a dish head," Comcast tells viewers in the campaign, which features a man on a couch wearing a satellite dish over his head.

The TV spots, created by Goodby Silverstein, pokes fun of the reputation satellite TV has for losing reception during the rain. "Ditch satellite for a better TV experience rain or shine. Experience Xfinity," Comcast tells viewers in the commercial.
The ads come as Comcast is struggling to retain its basic cable subscribers. The cable MSO lost 165,000 basic video subscribers during the third quarter, while DirecTV gained 327,000 subscribers during the same period.
