Comcast expands Metro Ethernet partner program
Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) struck deals with several regional telecom companies to resell its Metro Ethernet service, which could help it boost sales of broadband Internet access and to small businesses.
The MSO said it added several companies to its Comcast Business Services solution provider partner program, including Crystal Technologies in Westchester, Pa.; Total Communications in East Hartford, Conn.; Interactive Telecom Solutions in Paramus, N.J.; Telegration in Detroit; Simplify in Woodlands, Texas; Lightstream in Salt Lake City; Bridgepointe in San Mateo, Calif.; and CTG3 in Bellvue, Wash.
Comcast, Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC), Cablevision (NYSE: CVC), Cox Communications and other MSOs are banking on revenue from commercial services to boost earnings growth. By partnering with more telecom firms, Comcast may be able to drive sales without having to expand its own workforce.
