Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) said Wednesday that it expanded joint promotions with Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) to Houston and dozens of cities in California and New England.

The companies said they will offer subscribers who order new digital cable and mobile phone services prepaid Visa debit cards of up to $300 in value. Subscribers can also get a free HD DVR rental for six months, and a free upgrade to Comcast's Blast! high-speed Internet service, which offers speeds of up to 30 Mbps.

In California, Comcast and Verizon said the joint promotions are available in Monterey County, Santa Cruz, San Jose and Sacramento. The companies also began pitching combined services in western Massachusetts, Vermont, southern New Hampshire and Brunswick, Maine.

Last week, Comcast CFO Michael Angelakis said Comcast and Verizon engineers are also developing new products that will rely on Comcast's digital cable platform and Verizon's wireless network and mobile devices.
