Comcast offering one-hour appointment windows in Boston area
Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) is beginning to offer one-hour appointment windows to customers in the Boston area who request service calls or new installations. The cable MSO, which previously offered appointment windows ranging from two to four hours, said it will give customers that a $20 credit on their bills if a technician fails to show up on time.
Spokeswoman Jenni Moyer told FierceCable that Comcast is rolling out the reduced appointment windows market by market, with some systems offering windows as short as one hour. "There's also a major focus on being on-time, every time within the appointment window," she added.
Comcast began offering one-hour appointment windows earlier this year in some smaller markets, including parts of Utah, Arizona and Florida. Offering the shorter appointment windows in the Boston area could help it compete with RCN and Verizon (NYSE: VZ).
