It's not cheap to buy a television network--and all the associated amusement parks, cable stations and movie studios that go with it. Comcast, according to an ABC News report, spent $3.5 million in the fourth quarter lobbying Congress to let it buy a 51 percent stake in NBC Universal for the tidy sum of $30 billion. Comcast spent over $3 million in the third quarter.

Of course all the money isn't being spent to grease the deal. Comcast also lobbied for help on retransmission issues, online security, net neutrality, sports programming and other issues, the story said.
