Concurrent accelerates move into OTT video delivery with TellyTopia

Single screen/single network video entertainment is so last century. At least that's the conclusion video server/software vendor Concurrent apparently when it made the decision to spend an undisclosed amount of money to acquire Web TV-focused start-up TellyTopia.

TellyTopia's technology "streamlines" the process of placing off-net and user-generated content onto multiple screens as traditional service providers battle over-the-top (OTT) outsiders with their own Web-based offerings.

"Concurrent's vision is to enable limitless access to video content by providing screen and network-agnostic video solutions," Concurrent President-CEO Dan Mondor said in a Concurrent news release. To that end, TellyTopia's cloud-based video system "directly aligns" with Concurrent, he said.
