Cox shuts down as Hurricane Isaac hits Louisiana
Cox Communications shut down its offices and service facilities in parts of Louisiana Wednesday, as Hurricane Isaac rolled through the state.
The MSO said it ceased normal business operations in the New Orleans region, and that its offices and retail centers will remain closed through Wednesday. It closed its offices and retail centers in Baton Rouge, and plans to reopen them on Thursday.
The hurricane also hit parts of Florida, where Cox has cable systems. "In Florida, our crews are on the streets this morning and early reports indicate that impact is minimal," Cox spokesman Todd Smith told FierceCable.
Smith said Cox plans to survey damage caused by the storm in Louisiana "after it is safe for crew to get out and assess."
