Demonstrating their ANGA: U.S. cable vendors woo buyers at European show

Just a week before The Cable Show opens in Los Angeles, U.S. cable vendors are showcasing their wares for European buyers at the ANGA Cable Show in Cologne, Germany. Many applications, or at least the news releases explaining them, are logically targeted at the European market; all, however, can and will be used in the U.S. and will probably show up at next week's Cable Show. -- Harmonic said that Austrian cable operator Kabelsignal has deployed its IP-based video processing solutions for itskabelDigitalTV service.  

-- ActiveVideo Networks and SMiT have integrated ActiveVideo's CloudTV platform with SMiT modules to enhance interactive television.

-- Aurora established a reseller partner with European broadband cable and telecommunications equipment supplier Technextrix.  

-- Cedar Point previewed a new application suite that "harnesses the flexibility of new network architectures to give subscribers greater control over telecommunications activities at the PC, mobile phone and TV.

-- Motorola showcased a decoupled upstream CMTS module that it said will help cable operators meet demand for increased broadband throughput from social media, streaming video and multi-screen IP video.

-- And CommScope displayed its PON solution as part of a lineup of broadband, wireless and enterprise products.
