DirecTV shoots original drama series 'Full Circle' for Audience Network
DirecTV (Nasdaq: DTV) is stepping up its investment in original programming, announcing that it'll begin shooting an original drama series called Full Circle this summer at its broadcasting center in Los Angeles.
The satellite TV provider said it will premiere Full Circle this fall on Audience Network, the DirecTV channel formerly known as The 101 Network. Momentum TV is producing the series that DirecTV said will explore "the nature of human contact and true togetherness in our current technology-driven world." Fremantle Media International will distribute the show overseas, the company said.
Earlier this month, DirecTV premiered original series Rogue on Audience Network. The Los Angeles Times described the program in a review as a "wreck of a crime drama." DirecTV also struck a deal in 2010 with Sony Pictures Television to resurrect Damages after FX decided to drop the series.
