Dish pushes FCC to drop review of Softbank's Sprint acquisition

Minority shareholders worry Sprint's Clearwire bid is too low

Two weeks after Dish Network outbid Sprint with an offer to acquire Clearwire, the satellite TV provider asked the FCC to halt its review of Softbank's proposal to acquire a 70 percent stake in Sprint Nextel. The regulatory maneuvering comes as more of Clearwire's minority shareholders express concern that Sprint's offer for Clearwire is too low. Sprint last month offered to buy Clearwire for $2.97 per share. Dish has offered $3.30 per share. FierceWireless has more on the news. Read more
