Interactive applications developer Ensequence is taking its expertise beyond the cable and satellite industries and into the new over-the-top (OTT) world of connected TVs. Specifically, Ensequence is teaming with Yahoo! on a live traffic conditions map application.

"We're going to be wherever our programmer customers want us to be," Kevin Hurst, executive vice president of marketing and product management told Multichannel News, while maintaining that cable's Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format is still a focal point.

That cable focus doesn't mean that Ensequence doesn't see other opportunities to pursue, he added. Hurst said the Yahoo Connected TV Widget has been installed in as many as 10 million connected TVs which provides an opportunity to "take our chops from the traditional interactive TV space and apply it to the new space."
