Kathleen Merrigan, USDATelecom companies and community organizations that won Rural Utility Service (RUS) stimulus grants will have until the fall of 2015 to complete their projects. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Kathleen Merrigan said that the agency wants to give winners more time to file paperwork that must be filed before funds can be allocated. "We have a chunk of money that has been obligated but not yet outlaid," Merrigan said. "Any time that situation occurs I get nervous (because) laws can be changed at any moment and we might have to pivot." Read more...
