It's one thing for a cable-broadcaster retransmission dispute to delay the Academy Awards broadcast as happened this spring with Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) and Disney's (NYSE: DIS) ABC network; it's quite another and more serious problem when it threatens a college football game.

That's what has the folks at NBC4i in Columbus, Ohio frothing. The retransmission battle between Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC-WI) and Disney could threaten the Ohio State-Miami broadcast Sept. 11. "NBC4 contacted the local Time Warner spokesperson," the station's report stated and that person "said they are still in negotiations with Disney and don't believe they are going to lose ESPN programming on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 when the contract expires."
