Continued growth in the home networking business drove Entropic Communications (Nasdaq:ENTR) to first quarter revenues of $71.5 million, a 1 percent improvement compared to the fourth quarter of 2010 ($70.8 million) and an 91 percent year-over-year increase over the $37.5 million achieved in the first quarter of 2010.

"We saw continued expansion of the connected home entertainment market and momentum toward delivery of IP-based video into and throughout the home," Patrick Henry, preside-CEO said in a news release.

In particular, Henry said, the company "benefited from a ramp in our MoCA products by U.S. cable MSOs" that paralleled similar strength at Verizon and "offset seasonal softness from U.S. satellite service providers."
