Infonetics: CMTS and edge QAM revenue will jump 20 percent in 2013

Cable technology vendors will see a 20 percent increase in revenue from sales of cable modem termination systems and edge QAM modulators this year, according to a report from Infonetics Research. Increased demand from cable operators for DOCSIS 3.0 hardware and multiscreen services is driving the increased revenue, the firm said. While Arris grew its share of the CMTS market by 6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012, Infonetics said Cisco continues to lead the industry in market share. Read more
