Mediacom Communications has become the latest MSO--following Cox Communications--to launch whole-home DVR service. According to a company news release, the ability to have seamless television viewing playback in up to three rooms while also recording six programs and playing back three--a bit of mathematical wizardry, that-will be available throughout much of Illinois.

The cornerstone of the service is a 500 gig hard drive that will let subscribers record and store 140 hours of analog video (as if anyone does that anymore); 390 hours of digital video or 70 hours of HD.
